Four WhiteWall finishes are available across the shop. They look different on the wall and feel different in the hand. Each one suits a different kind of image and a different kind of room. Here is how I would pick.
Acrylic Glass (glossy or matte)
The photo is bonded behind a thick sheet of clear acrylic. Colors come out deep and vivid, with an almost three dimensional feel. Very modern, very clean. The material I use most often myself. Available in glossy (the standard, maximum vibrance) or matte (less reflective, calmer feel).
Where to hang it. Living rooms, galleries, hallways. On a dark or neutral wall it looks especially strong. The shiny surface picks up light, so the room around it shapes how the print reads. If your wall is across from a sunny window, choose the matte version.
Where it does not work well. Glossy directly opposite a sunny window or a strong lamp. The acrylic reflects everything in front of it. Matte solves this.
Care. Wipe with a soft microfiber cloth and a bit of water if needed. Acrylic can scratch if you are rough, so no paper towels and no glass cleaner with alcohol or ammonia.
Worth knowing. Heavy in large sizes. Make sure the wall and the mount can take the weight.
Fine Art Print in Magnetic Frame
A fine art paper print held in a slim aluminium frame with magnetic closure. The frame stays on the wall, the print comes out and goes back in. Made for people who want to swap prints over time without rehanging anything.
How it works. The back of the frame holds the print between two thin sheets behind glass, sealed shut by magnets in each corner. Open it by hand. The print slides out, a new one slides in. Hang the frame once, swap the picture forever.
Where to hang it. Anywhere a traditional frame would go. The aluminium edge is very thin so the print does most of the talking.
Care. Dust the frame and glass with a soft cloth. Avoid touching the print itself.
Worth knowing. Order a single frame, then add bare paper prints later as a smaller follow-up purchase to rotate the picture in your home.
Fine Art Paper Print
A pure print on heavy matte fine art paper. No mounting, no frame. Arrives rolled in a sturdy tube. You frame it yourself, or I arrange the framing for you.
Cheaper shipping. A rolled tube costs much less to send than a mounted piece. The smart choice if you live outside the EU.
Your own framing. A frame is part of how a photo fits into your home. With a paper print you choose the wood, the color, the passepartout and the glass yourself. Any good framer can do this for under 100 euros for the smaller sizes.
Important. Always frame the print before hanging it. Paper degrades fast in the open: light, humidity, dust, hands. Behind glass it stays beautiful for decades.
If you want it framed by me. Email me. I work with a framer here in Vorarlberg who matches the frame to the image. I can arrange it and ship the print ready to hang.
Canvas Matte
Printed directly on cotton canvas, stretched over a wooden frame. No glass, no glare. Soft texture, warm tone, slightly painterly look. The most forgiving material to live with day to day.
Where to hang it. Atmospheric, low contrast images shine on canvas. Soft light, mood pieces, abstract scenes. Living rooms, bedrooms, reading nooks, cabins. Big sizes that need to feel warm rather than sharp.
Where it does not work well. Images where fine detail matters. Canvas texture absorbs sharpness, so a starry sky loses its pinpoint stars, a detailed landscape loses some of its precision and crisp action photos read softer than they should.
Care. Easiest of the four. Dust occasionally with a clean dry cloth. Do not lean things against it (the canvas can dent) and avoid long term direct sunlight.
Worth knowing. Light, even in big sizes. No glass to break.
